The Jirapa Municipal Assembly has disbursed a total of GH¢104,800 to 44 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the municipality to support their education and income-generating projects.
The beneficiaries, made up of 19 females and 25 males, received cheques in varying amounts on Thursday, September 25, 2025, after their applications for financial support were reviewed and approved by the Assembly.
Presenting the cheques, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Peter To-ang, urged the recipients to make prudent use of the funds to ensure sustainability and personal development.
“I encourage you to invest this financial support in sustainable and income-generating activities as stated in your application letters. Future applications will be considered based on how well this assistance is utilized,” he advised.
The MCE further stressed that effective use of the funds would remain a key factor in determining future allocations to applicants.
In addition to the disbursement, the Assembly has also allocated GH¢28,000 to enable 30 PWDs to participate in an upcoming conference in Damongo in the Savannah Region. This support package will cover transportation, feeding, and accommodation.
Hon. To-ang reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to improving the welfare of all residents, particularly vulnerable groups, noting that such interventions are part of efforts to promote inclusive development in the municipality.
