The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Sissala East, Hon. Adamu Bening Yakubu, has called on public servants in the municipality to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability in the delivery of public services.
The MCE issued the call during a familiarization tour of key public institutions within the municipality during his first week in office. The tour included engagements with staff and leadership of the Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, St. Claire’s Technical Institute, Tumu Secondary Technical School, Kanton Senior High School, and the Tumu Midwifery Training School.
The visits were aimed at assessing institutional needs, identifying operational challenges, and strengthening collaboration between the local government and service delivery institutions.

Addressing public servants during the tour, Hon. Yakubu underscored the importance of nonpartisan professionalism, stating that while individuals have the right to political affiliations, the public service must remain neutral and guided strictly by ethical principles.
“There is no place for political interference or victimization in our public institutions,” he stated. “Every worker must feel safe and supported in carrying out their duties diligently and without fear.”
He further urged public sector officials to demonstrate fiscal prudence by prioritizing developmental needs and submitting well-structured proposals for inclusion in the Municipal Assembly’s composite plans.
Hon. Yakubu also called on residents and civil society organizations to take an active role in local governance, noting that community participation is essential to sustainable development.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and inclusiveness, the MCE announced an open-door policy for citizens and stakeholders to provide constructive feedback on government policies and programs.
“I am confident in the potential of Sissala East, and I am committed to securing the resources and partnerships necessary to improve livelihoods and promote long-term development,” he said.
Hon. Yakubu pledged to work tirelessly to deliver on the government’s reset agenda and ensure tangible improvements in the lives of the people of Sissala East.
