Millennium Child Support Provides Borehole to Kenee Community

Commissioning of Borehole to Kenee Community

The Millennium Child Support Group, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has commissioned a borehole for the Kenee M/A Primary and Kindergarten School in the Jirapa Municipality, significantly enhancing access to safe drinking water and boosting child welfare in the area.

Funded with support from the ECOWAS Commission and Spanish Cooperation, the new facility is expected to improve health outcomes and support quality education by relieving pupils and community members of the burden of walking long distances in search of water.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Municipal Chief Executive of Jirapa, Peter N.N. To-Ang, praised the organization for its contribution to sustainable development in the Upper West Region.

“This borehole will greatly alleviate the burden on our school children and community members who had to trek long distances in search of safe drinking water,” he said.

The project forms part of broader efforts by the Millennium Child Support Group to improve child development through infrastructure that addresses basic needs in underserved communities.

By delivering clean water to Kenee, the initiative not only promotes good health and sanitation but also reinforces the conditions necessary for effective learning and teaching.
